Partnering With Christ, Pt. 2
1 Corinthians 6:17 says, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.”
- Just as a bride becomes one with her husband, so we become one with Christ! This is the result of a covenant! In a marriage, you are not half a person and your spouse completes you, but you are a whole person who is joined with a spouse that makes you a complete and unstoppable team! In Christ, we are whole, and this team produces fruit that remains!
1 Peter 3:6-7 says, “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”
- The scripture would never tell us to do something that Christ was not willing or has not already set the example of doing in Himself. Otherwise, it would be hypocritical! Since we as the church are considered the bride of Christ, we know Christ honors us as the church, carrying His name and example in the world today. We are weaker than He is, but we are heirs together of the grace of eternal life. Eternal life is knowing God (John 17:3). Your life eternally does not begin when you die, but when you surrender and give your life over to Him!
- As long as you partner with Christ, you know your prayers will never be hindered. You are not distracted or chasing after any other lovers, but you have the confidence to know He hears you when you prayer because you pray according to His will! (1 John 5:14-15)
Ephesians 3:4-6 says, “4Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:”
- A faith corrupted by religion will isolate you into fear, but a faith that is joined with Christ will proceed to overwhelming peace and victory!
John 17:21-22 (TPT) says, “21 I pray for them all to be joined together as one even as you and I, Father, are joined together as one. I pray for them to become one with us so that the world will recognize that you sent me. 22 For the very glory you have given to me I have given them so that they will be joined together as one and experience the same unity that we enjoy.”
- Partnering with Christ is about walking together in unity as the church while keeping Jesus as the center. It is going through life being stamped with His glory and favor. The world recognizes when we are with Him, and if others cannot see it then we are potentially misaligned with God in His will and purpose.
- If the world is to believe, the church has to become one just as the Father and Son are one in unity!
- Partnering with Christ is about our prayers aligning with His since He is seated at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us (Romans 8:26-28, 34). When our prayers align with Christ’s prayers, we begin to activate His kingdom and will in the earth, on earth as it is in heaven. All things work together for our good as a result of the Spirit praying through us and Christ praying for us (Hebrews 7:25), both pointing to fulfilling God’s will!
- What makes an ineffective prayer life is having so many lone rangers fighting the battles by themselves, praying out of the flesh and a carnal mindset instead of linking their faith up with Christ. When we are praying and focused on the same goal instead of having “scattered prayers from scattered sheep” focused only on praying their own passions, then we fulfill the scripture where two touch on any one thing agreeing His name it shall be done (Matthew 18:18-20). It is the difference between having one superstar versus a team!
- For example, if we gathered in a circle and began to pray, we would only pray what is on our mind during that moment, such as the President, your business, lost family members, etc. But, when the common focus is Pineville Hospital, then we can take turns praying out of our spirit every single need related to that situation so God’s perfect will is established!
Romans 8:1-3 (TPT) says, “So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One. 2 For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us from the “law” of sin and death. 3 For God achieved what the law was unable to accomplish, because the law was limited by the weakness of human nature.”
- Partnering with Christ eliminates the voice of condemnation in your life! It is joining with His anointing insomuch that it is revealed through our character and way of life since His Word is inscribed upon our hearts. We are no longer under the law but under grace as our conscience and awareness of sin and where it leads becomes natural because it is filled with the Holy Spirit!
What does it mean to partner with Christ:
- Being faithful in devotion so that we bear fruit that remains!
- Becoming the shepherd of the field, being like Christ as a leader in your realm or sphere of influence.
- Due to the relationship you have built with Him, you are willing to go all in for the same desires and passions that He has, knowing you will share the return on investment with Him!
- Your prayers are aligned with His.
- To be partakers of God’s promises in Christ by the gospel, meaning that we too inherit eternal life through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ!
- Displaying the same unity in the church as Christ is with our Heavenly Father!
- Eliminating the voice of condemnation in your life because you have joined with His anointing!
