It is Well, Pt. 4
5) A child warmed up vs. a child resurrected from the dead.
When Elisha came into the house, behold the lad was dead and laid on his bed. So he entered and shut the door behind them both and prayed to the LORD. And he went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth and his eyes on his eyes and his hands on his hands, and he stretched himself on him; and the flesh of the child became warm. Then he returned and walked in the house once back and forth, and went up and stretched himself on him; and the lad sneezed seven times and the lad opened his eyes. He called Gehazi and said, “Call this Shunammite.” So he called her. And when she came in to him, he said, “Take up your son.” Then she went in and fell at his feet and bowed herself to the ground, and she took up her son and went out (vv. 32-37, NASB).
Elisha shut the door behind him to any lie, disbelief and negativity, and prayed to the LORD. Out of this place of prayer, he did something very strange. He laid upon this promised son, mouth to mouth (words/resuscitate), eyes to eyes (vision) and hands to hands (works), and he stretched himself, warming the flesh of the child. This child had grown taller than Elisha, but Elisha had to stretch himself. If you ever want to receive a miracle, you have to stretch your faith! The boy did not resurrect back to life, but Elisha would do it a second time, and the young man would sneeze seven times and open his eyes. He had to come into alignment with the Word, vision and works of God, and when he did, life came back into him. He would sneeze, freeing his mind of those thoughts attacking him and live out the purpose for which he was created.
Spiritually, are you as the church being warmed up or are you being resurrected? We have been satisfied with a few good works, a few good messages and a few good prayer nights when God is calling us into deeper waters, which is radically transforming our culture and introducing them to the real Jesus Christ. The Spirit of Elisha is coming upon a generation, not to warm it up, but to resurrect it! We simply cannot miss the mantle. It is the multiplication of the third generation anointing that is available for us. We can choose to be a part of that Gehazi generation and miss the mantle, walking in a rebellion that opens the door for generational curses that stretch even to the third and fourth generations, or we can initiate generational blessings as we are resurrected from a spiritual dead and slumber state and move forward with the vision, words and works of God! It is not time to be discouraged and stagnant. It is time to leave behind a legacy of revival!
