Condemning Word Curses
One of the greatest inheritance of a believer is that we have the authority to condemn every word cast in judgment against us. Those words speak death to our purpose, causing us to just go with the flow and not have a vision moving forward with our lives. They cause us to be limited to our past and permit those mistakes to become our identity when they do not define who we are! It is why when you receive salvation through Christ that He proclaims over us blameless because He paid the penalty for our sins, washing our past in His blood and casting our sins as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). This shows how much God really loves us!
No one can successfully speak word curses or negatively in our lives and it actually harm or effect us unless we believe it or allow it to be planted and take root in our hearts. Whatever we choose to believe will be exactly what has authority over us. Therefore, if a parent says, “You were an accident and will never amount to anything”, or a so-called friend says, “You are an idiot”, you have the right to not believe it since it is contrary to God’s Word, which proclaims that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Satan’s seat resides in lies, and he will constantly speak lies until we are convinced they are truth. This is how the enemy works in order to deceive and condemn, but as Isaiah the prophet proclaimed, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17). It may take time for Satan’s weapons to take form, but they were already defeated and destroyed through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. He has given us authority to condemn those words. Therefore, do it!
You must ask, “Well, how do you do that?” Regardless of how offended someone might be, when they speak doubt or word curses, just simply respond, “I do not believe or accept that in Jesus’ name!” Refuse to accept or believe any lie of the enemy and triumph over it with the love and power of God! Do what is necessary to overcome evil with God (Romans 12:21). Also, take the matter into prayer, proclaiming God’s Word and rehearsing His promises to Him. It is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18). So, if He has birthed a vision in your heart and declared a promise to you, then you must believe it and work towards that vision. His truth will always prevail!
